Our team at Rockstar Marine is comprised of seasoned maritime experts dedicated to the safety and performance of your vessel. From technical specialists to our attentive marina staff, we work together to provide the seamless service and peace of mind you expect in St. Maarten.
brad & tara taylor
Owner
Brad Taylor was born in the United Kingdom and now resides in St. Maarten. He grew up sailing aboard his family’s sailboat from South Africa to the Caribbean, which laid the foundation for a lifelong career in the marine industry.
With over 20 years of experience in the Caribbean, Brad has worked across nearly every sector of marine operations. He began his career as ground crew and dockmaster at various marinas before moving on to crew positions aboard charter vessels and private yachts. In 2003, he earned his 200-ton Captain’s License.
Brad later served as a yard project manager and marine services manager, overseeing refits, maintenance programs, and daily yard operations. He managed St. Maarten Shipyard for seven years and Bobby’s Mega Yard for four years.
He is now the owner and operator of Rock Star Marine Boatyard & Marina, formerly Bobby’s Airport Yard. Under his leadership, the facility is being developed into a full-service marine yard supporting all types of vessels. Services include bottom jobs, zinc replacement, diesel and outboard engine repairs, spray painting, carpentry, and an on-site watermaker workshop. The marina offers 110V and 220V shore power with fresh water at every slip.
Outside of work, Brad enjoys sailing, racing, fishing, water sports, and spending time with his young family.

I arrived in St. Maarten in 2003 after sailing here on a 37ft sailboat and have called the island home since 2006. Over the years, I’ve spent extensive time sailing throughout the Caribbean and working across the marine industry, from mega yachts to charter catamarans.
After the birth of my three children, I continued my career in the industry through recruitment management and HR, gaining valuable experience in leadership and team development. Today, I’m proud to work alongside my husband at Rockstar Marine Boat Yard, using my hands-on maritime background and management experience to help bring the yard to where it should be—professional, reliable, and built on clear communication and quality service.
